Your information, handled with care.

Privacy notice · Updated October 18, 2026

Disaster Audit is an early-stage home preparedness service for Los Angeles County homeowners. This notice explains how we handle information submitted through disasteraudit.com.

What we collect

When requests are open, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, property address, two selected assessment topics, and your planning acknowledgment. We record the time and version of the form and acknowledgment, plus any optional marketing choice. Do not submit payment details, identification documents, medical information, or information about children.

How we use it

We use your details to review your request, confirm the property location, ask for clarification, prepare and deliver your assessment, and respond to questions or corrections. A phone number is optional and is used only for contact about your request. Marketing is a separate, optional choice; leaving it unchecked does not affect your free assessment.

Address suggestions

If you use address suggestions, the address text you type is sent through our server to Geoapify before you submit the form. We do not send your name, email or phone number for these lookups. You can choose “Enter without suggestions” before typing to turn this off, or enter your address manually if suggestions are unavailable. We do not save lookup text in our request database; the address you submit is saved with your assessment request. Geoapify processes lookups under its privacy policy. A suggested address does not verify ownership, service eligibility, or property conditions.

Where it is stored

Requests are saved in a private website database and copied to a private Google Sheet for follow-up. The database lets us retain a saved request if Google is temporarily unavailable. Google access credentials stay on the server. Public visitors cannot read submitted records.

We use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare for hosting and storage, and Google for spreadsheet processing. These providers process information to operate their services. Authorized operators can access request details to fulfill the service. We do not sell your information or share it with professional service providers for referrals unless you separately authorize that sharing.

Security and cookies

We use encrypted connections, restricted storage, server-side validation, and limits on form submissions. Our abuse controls temporarily store salted address digests rather than raw IP addresses. Hosting providers may separately process connection and security logs. No system can guarantee absolute security.

We do not use advertising pixels or third-party marketing analytics on this site. Hosting services may use necessary security or authentication technologies.

How long we keep it

We review unfulfilled requests after 30 days and delete information when it is no longer needed. For issued assessments, we may retain the report, supporting evidence, permissions, and related records for up to five years to answer questions and maintain service records, or longer when a lawful hold requires it. Deletion and correction requests are handled in both the database and the spreadsheet; backup copies expire under the providers’ retention processes.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete information, ask what information we hold about your request, or withdraw optional marketing permission. Include your request reference if you have one. We may need to verify that the request is yours. We will explain if a record must be retained for a specific reason.

Questions and requests

No public email address is listed at this stage. Once we contact you about an assessment, reply to that email with your request reference for questions, corrections, or privacy requests.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date above. If we add professional referrals or paid services, we will explain their scope and any additional sharing before you choose them.
